You need another 870.  Go count them all and if it is an odd number you have to go get another one as only even numbers are allowed.  You did good as that is an Old School beauty you got there.   Bet it cycles slicker then eel snot.

That hole to allow for the screw securing the “Vari-Weight” plug is one of the main reasons I advise others to not get overly concerned about drilling the dimple out of the new Express models. There are bunches and gobs of these old 870s that’ve had the same hole for years.

I laugh and say the same thing. The people ‘in the know’ don’t know that 870’s originally came with holes drilled from the factory but hey what do I know.

That hole also serves as an air relief hole.  When shoving a round object (a shell) in a round tube (the magazine tube) you are pushing air.  It has to go somewhere.   So the magazine caps had a hole in the center also and the tube extension has a hole in the end.

I do how ever want guys to continue using the socket method as the FUBAR there mag tube then try to screw it out and FUBAR their receiver and will by a new receiver form me.   I need sales as I just bought a New Durango.

He is a picture of the socket method gone wrong. IMG_4018.jpg  See the damage, swelling at the end of the tube?
