Took the Remington 2 round off my 870 and replaced it with a Wilson Combat
2 round tube. So then I had the barrel scratches to fix. It has been a lot of years
ago when I last used cold blue so I went looking for what's new.
Before yesterday I had never heard of 44/40 cold blue. So why not give it a try.
Turned out to be the best I have ever used. Simple instructions on the bottle even
I could understand.
The results were great. If You think You might try it, do some looking around.
I paid $10.95 and I saw some much higher.
The point is, this stuff works and works well.

I have found that Silicon Paste Wax will improve and protect the surface well, after Cold Bluing.

Cold blue?  You mean there is something besides an old black Sharpie marker to cover up scratches??  Now you tell me! [biggrin]

Markers are a lot cheaper and you can buy them in a two pack,
But come on, writing on Your favorite 870, really.

44/40 is OK, Oxpho-Blue is better.
