My grandson just bought a Beretta 1301 Tactical 12 gauge shotgun with an 18.5" barrel. I have to admit that I know absolutely nothing about this shotgun, so I'm wondering if anyone on the forum have any comments on the gun - Good, Bad etc. ?

Hey Gary,
I’ve had mine about a year now... I’ve put probably 5-6 hundred rounds of 00 buck and slugs through it... It always goes bang... It’s light, and the receiver is shorter than most, so it’s really quick handling when not over encumbered by extraneous “stuff”... I have a thread on mine in the Defensive Shotguns section.

Two famous shotgun gurus have recently purchased 1301 T’s. Rob Haught and Tom Givens. Both of these instructors are mainly 870 guys, but have seen how amazing the 1301 is as a defensive firearm, and want to maintain their expertise on shotguns moving forward. They both also recommend it for folks wanting to go the semi-auto route...

Tim, Thanks for the reply. I sent the link, to your post, to my grandson, so I hope he'll read through it. Lot's of good info.

Thanks again, Gary
