Lew called me and wanted to build an 870P in blued.   He wanted it functional and KISS. Here put his list together and I filled his order.   I wanted to see it once he was done.  Man, he built a beauty and it is KISS and "Deadly".  Good job LEW.  Here's a pic.

Hi folks ! New member Lew  here. Thanks to JD for his help and wisdom in putting this one together. Couple notes that some may find interesting...…. not a great pic but the barrel is also blued an a slight departure from other 870P's as it is a 20". It is also how this one came to be. My only other shotgun is a (blue) "Spotrsman 12 Pump Magnum", a little piece of old school Remington history they only made for a few years in the mid 80s. It came with a bird barrel, and adding a rifled slug barrel for deer was the obvious next step. It runs fine, no problems of any kind with both sporting barrels, so why not triple duty with a home protection barrel ? BAD IDEA. After discussion and thinking it thru, if the old school classic sporting gun does malfunction an I don't get the bird or deer, oh well, life goes on. If called upon in a non sporting scenario and it does malfunction life may not go on. So...… instead of returning the home-pro barrel I just built this gun around it. And since the barrels on the sporting gun can be used on this one a marine magnum trigger group was the final addition to a somewhat unique 870P. Thanks JD! And thanks to anyone who found this interesting. Keep things simple.
