Has anyone used alien gear holster, specfcially cloak tuck 2.0 or 3.0 .i have both and are good holsters for carrying concealed . I carry either my .38 special s&w air weight +p or carry my s& w shield .40 . I prefer the 2.0 alien gear holster over the 3.0 ,the 3.0 model is good holster just very stiff to me .if anyone else has used or tried these what are your impressions. they have a great warranty and if you decide to change concealed carry weapon just send them old weapon shell and they will send you a new one .

I tried the Alien Gear stuff, didn't see any advantages over what I was using and/or had used for quite a while.  YMMV.

The second most important thing about carry is that it has to be comfortable.  The first of course is to carry a capable defense gun but one that is practical.   I have ran the entire gauntlet of holsters and I believe the right holster is as hard to find as the right spouse.   I found my most comfortable for my 1911 is my Desantis.   Considering other options out there they are just not that expensive.  However I only use it for extended wear as it is belt holster.   For quick trips to town I grab a paddle holster and mag pouch made by Tagua.   Very inexpensive gear and they run really good deals if you watch the site for awhile.  I expect a Memorial Day sale this week.   https://www.taguagunleather.com

Since I am always looking for comfortable well built carry gear I will pay attention to this thread and see what feed back of the Allen Gear is.

It's (Alien Gear) got some really good reviews from people I trust.  Regarding your DeSantis, they were my go-to holster manufacturer for years.  Good designs and good prices.  When I'm packing a heavy revolver their Speed Scabbard is still the best thing going, IMO.

Alien?  What are they smuggling them across the border?   Thanks for clearing that up.   I just visited their web site and their stuff looks well made and priced right.   They also seem to have a very sensible selection.   I'm a leather guy so not the stuff I would use but I waller around in dinosaur doo doo all time so what do you expect.   I do like the mag pouches in that polymer because my leather one always loosen up to much and I go through them like you know what through a Goose.   Guess I will be a leather holster hard plastic mag pouch guy and save some money.  May get one of Aliens real soon before Trump builds the wall and I can't get one.

Hey Patrick - I just donated  an original document to the local Marine Corps League.  It is an original Tel-e-type from Commandant Chapman on the Death of Chesty Puller complete with funeral arrangements and half mast flag flying orders for all Marine Bases.   I was on extra duty from a Captains Mast and had to clean offices.  I was emptying the Company Commanders trash can and saw it.   I read it, cried and took it.   I have had it for 46 years.   It is going to be framed and on the Wall of the Hart Michigan VFW Post as that is the Building the League.  Better all our brothers can read it and remember the greatest Marine ever then for me to keep it in a photo album.

I have tried a few and probably will buy something else . Comfort Is important also weapon retion ,conceal ability .whatever we chose it is our choice maybe not the right one but the choice is ours .

Exactly, and that is why I tend to shy away from firm declarations on stuff like this.  What is perfect for John may be terrible for Joe.  A lot of folks talk pretty bad about Fobus, for example, but I bought an original Fobus way back in 1992(?) that still works great for me, in spite of the fact it was my range holster for decades and has probably seen over 100,000 presentations, as well as being scuffed up, rolled on, going through a couple of weapon retention classes and getting generally abused.  Thing still holds my Glock just right.  Similarly my favorite IWB holster is an old Law Concealment Systems holster, something that has been roundly condemned by pretty much all of the cognoscenti  in the shooting business.  But for me it was the most comfortable, easiest to work with and versatile IWB rig I ever ran across.

I have recently been using a Foxx Lil Foxx for my Taurus 85 polymer .38. It is very comfortable and I like the adjustable cant as I prefer a strong forward cant. Its my first polymer holster and it is surprisingly comfortable.
