The brass spring in my MEC e/z prime auto primer broke this morning.
I thought ok, I will order 3. Wrong. The one place I found them will
sell you 1, 25, or 50.
I'll be calling MEC in the morning.
This is a new unit that has been on my bench less then one month.
A friend of mine has a full line up of the 600 JR Mk 5 presses with
the E/Z prime, 12, 16, 20, 28. I don't remember if he has .410.
Any way, he claims to have broken 13 springs in 11 years.
How about it. Any one else have one of these brass springs fail?

That seems unacceptable.   the manufacture most likely opted for some cheaper springs from you know where.   Remington did that with some screws like the windage screw on the shotgun and rifle sights.  These are very small and the heads were snapping off and I was having to replace them to the customers I was selling the barrels to.

I resolved the above by telling the customers to call Remington and complain and Remington would send them a new windage screw.   the problem no longer exist, well the new ones can snap off but you really have to over tighten them.

Manufacturers only listen have X number of complaints come in or if it is a safety issue.   Call and fuss.  It the first cubical clown does not resolve it call back and you often get a different one that will.

Another solution is to take one of the new ones to a hardware store of to Fastenal and try to match it.   McMaster Car is also another site you can try and match it on.

My order came today and maybe it's just me but these seem to be
better then the original.
I ordered five springs and three brass dimple washers and got six springs
and the washers.
Called MEC and talked to a man in engineering. After I offered to pay for
the extra spring he asked me how much I paid for shipping, when I told,
he told me not to worry I had all ready paid for it.
I talked to three people at MEC and they were all great.
They will get more of my business.

Like I told my girlfriend the other night.  I love a happy ending.

I'll cross my fingers with you and hope those springs don't fail.
