After many, many years of lusting after other people's 870s I finally have the one I wanted.

870 police magnum; wood stock; 14" XS low profile sights barrel (vang comp system-no ports); 1 shot magazine extension and a simple leather sling.

I appreciate the advice and different views expressed on this page. Special thanks to JD.

Looks exactly like my latest 870P.   It started with black composite furniture, but I liked the look of one I saw with wood, and mine now looks like yours in the photo.   Mine wears a small rail at 10:00 on the forend for use of an inforce light when needed.
Although Hans Vang has done one of my guns, this one doesn't need it.  It shoots tighter patterns than I need with the Federal "Flite-Control" 00Buck.

Flite control does very good things however I am restricted to carrying agency issued/approved ammunition. Remington Tac 8 does not produce patterns anywhere as tight as Federal flite control. The Vang System has helped; not flite control level but much improved.

Would you explain/provide a photo of how your flashlight is attached?

Very nice weapon. I've just started looking into the SBS option. How long did you wait for the tax stamp approval? Not sure which State you are in, just curious about the length of time to process.

11 months for the form 4 (transfer existing sbs)

I know two guys who completed the form 1 (build new sbs) process in less than 2 months last year.
