Haha! You WERE listening... 👂

I got that from the Remington Bible, the book they use at the classes. I don’t have it with me now, but I can shoot you a picture with page number. That’s two mistakes now. The other one was regarding the two types of action spring follower and link, large and small on page 109. You’ve caught both. I want the JD’s Book of Remington Shotguns when it comes out... 🤓👍

If you have time, have a look at this research done by a regular guy like us, totally on his own dime:

Excellent. This thread has me thinking of doing an 1100 or an 1187.

Update after the smoothing and new action spring stuff, and the Wilson Combat extension:

Range time along with the Beretta 1301 Tactical went great. The Remington is like a Cadillac to the Beretta’s Corvette. One is heavy and easy to shoot, one is lighter and more nimble. Both are fun.

While the 11/87 did not function the super low powered Fiochhi (1150 FPS) loads like the Beretta did, it had no issues with the Federal Flitecontrol (1325 FPS) loads. You’ve heard that the 11/87 cannot function from the hip???? Not mine. It had no problems with the Federal ammo. Perhaps all that action tube work paid off? 🤔

Also, the Wilson extension worked perfectly as well, along with the SBE follower.

Anyway, I had a good time at the range this Monday past... 👍👍👍

Neat comparison. First thing that came to mind is the Italian gun liked the Italian shells and the American gun liked the American shells.

A good day at the range is a thousand times better than coming home from a daylong fishing trip with an empty cooler...

Penquin  try mixing the two and shoot fish [smile]   We did that as boys with our .22's shooting Gar in the creeks of North Florida.   I guess no days that would land you in jail but was fun and honed shooting skills.

I led a rather sheltered life. I would've enjoyed the hell out of an experience like that. Some kids had all the fun.

Question for the experts like JD and company:

My 11/87 locks up when I drop the hammer on a dummy round in the chamber. It takes a lot of brisk jiggling of the bolt handle back and forth to loosen it up and eject the dummy round. This does NOT happen with dropping the hammer on an empty chamber, just one with a dummy round (or a round that didn’t fire for whatever reason). Is this normal for the 11/87???? 🤔
