The Philippine National Police have chosen the Glock 17 Gen 4 as their new service pistol beating out Sig Sauer and a local manufacture (we know who that is but the story did not say).  They made the decision after the Glock passed the required endurance test which included firing 20,000 rounds without any failures or stoppages and without having to change any parts.  The Glock 17 passed this test twice with two different pistols.

Sounds like there is no money in being a Glock gun smith.

My department is in the process of evaluating the Glock 17 and 19, we currently carry the M&P 45.

My Dad's Dept. (St. Paul, MN) was the first major city PD to adopt the Glock, and my Dad may have expidited that decision. He put in an order for  G17 long before they were available, and when he got it, he took his Watch LT. out to shoot it, then the Deputy Chief, then the Chief. They adopted the G17 and G19 shortly after that. Later that Watch LT., as Chief, switched to the G22 and 23.
