Bought a Marine mag spring from J.D. When I put it in may 870 it took more pushing then the factory plain spring. Loaded the gun with dummy rounds and pulled the slide back and the gun kicked out two dummies. One more pump, two more dummies. I sent J.D. an email and he said I had the proper spring. So what now? Took the gun down and found a #7 1/2 pellet holding the left shell latch partly open. The #7 1/2 is what I use for weight in my dummies. Removing the pellet fixed every thing. Why all six dummies were not ejected at once I do not know. Kind of weird. No Vets No USA

First thing to check for any feed issues is trash behind the latches. Cleaning patches are a big culprit and guys that call me about these issue often resolve them after being told to clean out behind the shell latches and are quite relieved there is not pricy to trip to a local gun smith.
