If we are going to be supporting Suarez I think it fair to point out that he is an ex-cop Felon. He may never have lost his civil rights, or had them restored, but otherwise I have no idea how he handles firearms.

Well, here's my point of view.  Gabe did a plea bargain so he didn't officially get a felony rap.  He is known for being a blatant liar about some of his exploits according to other officers and folks that would be in the know.  I personally have found much of his training ideas and philosophy to be wanting, and would recommend a lot of others for those who are wishing to learn good tactics with the fighting shotgun.  FWIW, if I remember correctly Suarez is the only firearms trainer who was prohibited from giving a class back when the old American Society of Law Enforcement trainers was in business.  There are about a half-dozen firearms trainers I suggest people not take.  Gabe is one of them.  My $.02.

Hope this helps.
Don”

It does Don, thanks again. Loved the stink bug story, haha!
I just ordered the Shotgun Operator DVD and will check into Mr. Cain’s classes to see if something fits.

Good luck staying warm up by Lake Erie. I’ll think of you from down here in San Diego. 😜👍

Thanks David, worth at least that.
That’s the great thing about this group. People like me that come from fields unrelated to LE/Military rely on folks like you and others in the group with knowledge and experience. We all love the shotgun platform though, so thanks for being here and for taking time to comment.

Tim;
From San Diego, I would be going to Gunsite for training.  It's in Paulden (N. of Prescott) Arizona.
A great guy in your area that is a regular at Gunsite is Ron Walter(s), who owns Mission Valley Roofing in the San Diego area.  See if you can contact him through the business, as he may be moving soon.  (to that part of Arizona!)

Thanks Don, I’ll look up Ron. And Gunsite sounds great. Not too far away.
I’ve also been looking into Rob and his son Matt Haught’s training in Arizona. Them, and Tim Chandler‘s training at 360 Performance Shooting. He uses the Beretta 1301 Tactical like mine.
