Which Operating Handle (Bolt Handle) for the Remington 1100 and 11-87 is Superior?  The Choate Bolt handle that retails from Choate for $12.83 or the Remington Competition Master which retails from Remington for $18.99?

Ok, this is a trick question because they are the same part and made by Choate.  Remington buys them from Choate and simply offers them at the increased price.  I suspected this and decided to purchase one from Remington from my dealers parts list and of course as in most things shotgun, I was right ( a little self promotion there).

Remington of course has Vendors making many of the parts as do all Manufacturers so there is nothing wrong with this.  As for the price that may be different story.

If you have an 1100 or 11-87 you use as a defense or competition gun one of these handle is a must.  It acts as a forward assist like on a AR as if the breech bolt does not go forward and lock into battery you reach up and slap it and then rock on.

Here is a picture of the two.  Since they are the same I don't know which came from Choate and Which from Remington as I took both out of the package into one hand and they got mixed up and it does not matter, Choate made both of them.

There are many companies that buy and resale from Choate and others. The "white box" parts industry is very well alive and well as with many manufacturers that make quality products. You just have to eduacte yourself prior to "pulling the trigger"!

True that spm1us and if you do you can save money and not over spend for the exact same thing.   That means more money for ammo.
